First week in the new apartment

First week in the new apartment

Happy Saturday everyone!!

I am so sorry I have not posted in over a week. This last week has been CRAZY busy. Today I am here to just update you on my first week in the new apartment. I am also here to announce I will be posting every one on the weekend (either the Saturday or Sunday) and one weekday. Again, I wish I could choose a consistent day but since it’s the end of the school year I am packed with school work so I don’t want to commit to one day in case I get wrapped up in school work. However, I can promise one weekday and one weekend post. I hope that is understandable 🙂

This week has been crazy I moved on April 2nd so I guess this should be titled almost two weeks in my apartment. The move itself was actually a lot more smooth then I thought. Definitely a lot of elevator rides up and down but it was all worth it in the end. We actually moved in a span of two days. On the Saturday we moved all of Andrew’s things  because he had to move out of his old place on the 31st, we also moved all my boxes minus my furniture that day. Then Monday I moved all my furniture.

It’s been really relaxed and nice since we have finally got everything in the right place and gotten into a nice routine. I am now only like a 10-15 min bus ride from my school now, so commuting as been blessed.  There is still a lot of decorating I want to do since we have a lot more white walls in our place then I thought.

Overall, I am really happy and living on my own again has been good (actually been cleaning all the time which is good haha living the adult life) and I have been cooking a lot again which I am happy about!

Just two I have for anyone moving out,

  1. Learn to budget: This is SO important. I always make sure I save enough money weekly for groceries, going out to eat money, money for laundry. I also make sure I have enough rent money. Set a monthly or even weekly budget for yourself and really try and stick to it, you don’t want to get to the end of the month and realize you can’t afford your rent.
  2. Clean up after yourself/set a day a week to clean: You need to set time for yourself to clean your place. I have tried to keep the place clean everyday by cleaning up dishes, picking up your clothes, Then on the weekends clean the floors, etc.

Hope you enjoyed this little update!

Stay reading!

p.s: Changed up my little post icon, not sure if I will stick to it yet :p
