5 inexpensive things to do this summer

Hey guys! I am back already! I am so happy to be back already. Today I wanted to talk about 5 inexpensive things you can do this summer. Everything costs money and it can be really hard to budget yourself. However, there are also so many things you can do for free or that are inexpensive, so let us begin!

Afternoon at the park

Going to a park on a nice sunny day is always fun in the summertime. Bring a basketball (if there is a court nearby) or soccer ball to throw/kick around. If you want to save money on food, pack some snacks or a full-on picnic! A couple weeks ago, a couple of my friends and I went downtown. They did some sketching and then I did some photography. We ended up grabbing lunch because we were hungry and didn’t pack food. We then just chilled in this park. However, like I said before if you are trying to save money pack a picnic beforehand to avoid the temptation to spend money while you are out.

Cooking/baking are always super fun. Whether you are cooking alone or cooking with friends or a boyfriend or girlfriend. It is always super fun to try out new recipes. I usually get my inspiration from Pinterest, youtube videos and sometimes restaurants. I’ve been a huge fan of poke bowls the last couple months and Andrew and I decided to make our own. Let me know if you want a full recipe of this (there was also avocado on top but was added right after the photo).

Go to a museum

I’m not sure what admission fees are like where you live but most museums in my city are between $15-$20. However, a few friends invited me out to this smaller museum in our city that was only $7. Museums are always great for a perfect rainy day (even though I didn’t go on a rainy day haha) but I think museums would be a great activity for a rainy day.

Plan a little weekend getaway

Every summer Andrew and I plan a little weekend getaway. This is, of course, the most expensive thing on the list but weekend trips are always fun for the summer and weekend trips are less expensive than hopping on a plane and flying somewhere. The last two summers we’ve done a two-night stay at Mont Tremblant which is only a couple hours away from where I live. This year we are only doing one night, just because we only have time to do one night. Weekend trips are always a great way to just step away from your everyday life and enjoy a little vacation. Mont Tremblant is great because there is so much to do there. You can bring your bike and bike, hike the mountain or just enjoy exploring the village.

Find local festivals

You’d be surprised at how many free local festivals you probably have in your town! You just need to look out for advertisements or do some research! Every year my town holds a tulip festival which is absolutely gorgeous. The tulip festival is definitely a great opportunity to take cute Instagram photos! Another festival that I went to last weekend with my friend Emma was an outdoor art festival! Emma and I  have gone to this festival in the past and we were lucky to be able to attend again this year! The art festival lets artists (I think mainly local but we did meet people from out of town) showcase their art. You are able to purchase art there as well, but the admission itself is free!

I hope you enjoyed this list of fun little inexpensive things you can do this summer. These next two weeks are pretty busy coming up with graduation, and I will be out of town for the next two weekends but that means more content! Don’t forget to follow me on my socials
